Self Help have got a name for themselves for their rambunctious fuzzy punk style and energetic live shows.
They began as Din Twins in 2016, when guitarist and singer Danny met drummer Silke and realised a shared love for in-your-face rock and roll. The duo was soon joined by Lizzie on bass and Sean on guitar, who had also found refuge in the Oxford music scene.
The fierce female rhythm section and sensitive boys on guitar soon started to make waves and attract the attention of local music hero Ronan Munro, BBC’s Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson, Jon Hillcock and Dave Gilyeat, as well as blessed fans who turn up to every show.
Self Help have toured relentlessly across the UK and released three EPs. After spending two weeks in Grenoble, France collaborating with musicians from all over the world, Self Help toured in Austria in early 2019. They’ve shared stages with Shame, Squid, Goat Girl, whenyoung, The Murder Capital and Mclusky.
